Name: Tina Williams
SPG Career: Technical Recruiting Consultant
Secret Dream: To visit the Serengeti and ride alongside a rhinoceros

Her Universal Truth: "The greatest of faults is to be conscious of none."

As a technical recruiter, Tina Williams sees herself first and foremost as a customer service representative. "My position is to provide quality service," she states. "My customers are professional managers and I try to be as responsive to them and as efficient as possible."

Within months of starting her present assignment, Ms. Williams has personally hired over 60 technical professionals and the pace is bound to increase. "It’s definitely challenging. But keeping on my toes inspires me!"

Born in New Jersey and educated in California, Ms. Williams moved to Chicago where she learned the technical recruiting business at a fast-paced agency. "This was great training for what I do now," she says. "I learned how to really partner with another person about their career. I call on these skills today."

Collaborating with an SPG recruiter was a great experience for Ms. Williams. "Lauren was just the best. Everybody was very professional. They were great to work with."

Ms. Williams has learned to stay focused during hectic times through her study of martial arts and practicing their disciplines of non-engagement and calm restraint. "My martial arts training has taught me to let things just roll off my back," she states. "I believe I can learn something from everybody. And anything I know, I feel obligated to share if it can be of use."

Her office is graced with a photograph of a sunset over the ocean taken from the deck of her Long Island home. "I’m awed that such a wonderful picture could come from a throw-away Kodak!" says Ms. Williams who commutes well over an hour to her assignment in the City. "I love what I’m doing and love the pace of the city," she states, "I wouldn’t want an assignment closer to home – my life is great!"
